Sweaters!
Charlie is not a morning dog, but early morning is frequently when I'm available to go on those long walks. To get her hustled out the door in comfort we garb Charlie in a lightweight stretchy sweater.
Of course there are dozens of designs to be had at PetsMart and PetCo, not to mention the multitudes that are available online, but we found that it's really easy to make inexpensive sweaters out of old sweatshirt sleeves (when a wee pup) and stretchy fleece from JoAnns or even Walmart later on.
The great thing about it is that it's easy to adapt to fit your dog exactly, and the fun part is that you can find all sorts of material. Charlie, for example, has a yellow jacket, a Red Skins coat, and one in leopard. The kids at my son's school think it's hysterical that Charlie's so decked out, and the neighbors... well, it's hard to know what they think.
